Enjoy your well deserved winter break and practice English :)

Listening:

http://esl-lab.com/  Randall’s ESL Cyber Listening Lab has lots of listening practice that include vocabulary, quizzes, long conversations, and videos (you will need Real Player to play the videos).

http://www.manythings.org/pp/index.html  American English Pronunciation Practice (For ESL/EFL)

Game-like Minimal Pair Practice using Flash and MP3 Files.

http://www.englishlistening.com/startListeningNow.do Choose a domain, a topic, a level and finally a passage. Then, click play and listen. Scroll down to see questions, answers, and transcripts.

Writing Sites:

http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/  One of my favorite sites, where you can find samples, PowerPoint presentations, and exercises. This web page has an ESL tab for grammar practice as well.

http://www2.actden.com/writ_den/index.htm  The Writing Den. This interactive site includes videos and sounds and offers fresh topics and great online activities. Students can subscribe to “The Word of the Day” by entering their email address.

http://www.uefap.com/writing/writfram.htm  Using English for Academic Purposes (UEFP) is a guide for students in higher education. This site also provides a section with listening, speaking, reading, note –taking and grammar.

Reading Sites:

http://www.cdlponline.org/  California Distance Learning Project with adult learning activities that include video, listening, reading and comprehension. Some of the topics are: Family, School, Nature, Working, etc.

http://www.speakaboos.com/  This is a children’s website that provides excellent quality storytelling with closed-captioning. Most of the stories are read by celebrities. They also include a feature where you can read and record your own stories.

http://www.storylineonline.net/index.html This site, also for children, includes closed-captioning in some stories.

Grammar:

http://www.englishpage.com/verbpage/verbtenseintro.html  This site provides excellent grammar activities with immediate feedback and also offers an online dictionary, games, and some listening practice.

http://www.englishclub.com/grammar/  The English Club is a site that provides grammar practice as well as grammar quizzes. Most of the quizzes have instant feedback.

http://a4esl.org/a/g.html  This site provides easy, medium and difficult ESL quizzes. Some of them include Flash animation and the majority of the quizzes offer immediate feedback.
